Ahok Ready to Bet His Life for Budget Transparency

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama (Ahok) revealed that he is ready to bet his life to realize a corruption-free culture in the capital. Hence, Ahok wanted to combat and eliminate the stealth budget in the next City Budget (APBD).

“I would bet my life to keep the budget transparent. Surely if the leader is good, its subordinate will also be good,” asserted Ahok, when he gave directed the whole headman all over Jakarta, in the Great Hall, City Hall, Wednesday (3/4).

He asked the headmen to write agree or reject on the budget's copy version of the city administration and Legislative Council (DPRD).

Ahok Apologized to Jakartans Regarding Polemic of City Budget

“Don't worry if you (headmen) wanted to join or support the legislative. Just do it. I appreciate it. I pray the other party did not revoke the right of inquiry. Honestly, I really enjoyed it," he expressed.

He acknowledged President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo already had phoned him concerning the results of the joint meeting along with the Home Ministry to bring together with legislative about the 2015 budget.

He also expressed the legislative's effort which initially intended to include the stealth budget amounted to Rp 8.8 trillion through vision-mission program.

Therefore, he summoned those headmen to know their assertiveness..

"I want to wait and want to know, whether you support me or them (legislative)," he disclosed.
